Are You a Candidate for Massage?
If you can
identify with more than two of these signs of stress, then you are a
good candidate for massage:
- Can’t concentrate at work
- Irritability
- Muscle aches or tension
- Difficulty remembering information
- Frequent colds
- Unable to sleep at night
- Sensitivity to light
- Headaches
- Poor posture (e.g., a feeling of weight on your shoulders)
- Difficulty digesting food or loss of appetite
- Joint soreness
- Decreased flexibility
- Cold hands and/or feet
- Lethargic feeling
- Wake up feeling tight, stiff, or in pain
- Physical or emotional trauma (e.g., car accident, surgery, loss
of loved one)
Other situations that make you a good candidate for massage include:
- Desire to reduce or eliminate pain medication(s)
- Want to take your exercise routine to the next level, or get
more out of it
- Want time to yourself to temporarily escape the demands of work,
family, kids, school, etc.
- Tired of being tired
- Chronic aches in the body that don’t have a physiological causeo
